The College of Business Administration has gained a new class partner in VTW. This co-operation combines theory and practice in an innovative way and should give the pupils important insights into the corporate world.
Why VTW?
The decision in favour of VTW as a class partner was no coincidence. ‘Even though the pupils initially had no connection to VTW, the company was exciting for us teachers right from the start. As a project by former Husky KTW employees who have taken on the challenge of building a successful start-up with an international partner, VTW is a role model for entrepreneurial initiative and success,’ says class leader Helmut Hutter. The practical relevance that this partnership offers is particularly valuable. Business management topics become tangible and exciting thanks to the input of experienced practitioners. This exchange between theory and practice strengthens the students’ understanding and prepares them better for future professional challenges.
Planned activities and key topics
The collaboration will be organised through reciprocal visits and exchanges on specific business management topics. In the first year, basic topics such as purchase contracts, delivery delays and defects are on the programme. In subsequent years, more complex topics such as foreign business, setting up a company, company forms and personnel management will be covered. ‘It would also be exciting to gain an insight into international communication – for example, how VTW works with partners from abroad, possibly even in English,’ continues Hutter. Internships or other active elements could also enrich the cooperation.
A strong foundation for the future
‘Thank you for the warm welcome and your commitment to the class partnership,’ summarised Helmut Hutter. VTW Managing Director Manfred Schinko clearly emphasises that the partnership is mutual: ‘The shortage of skilled workers has been on everyone’s lips for years. As was the case when VTW was founded, we are actively taking the initiative here and implementing appropriate measures. In addition to our apprentice training programme, this also includes partnerships with research facilities, institutes and schools. We are delighted to be able to realise this project with the College of Business Administration.’ With VTW as a class partner, business management lessons become practical and lively.
